This Christmas, the kids really got into the Spirit. We read lots of Christmas stories from the library, one of them being The Polar Express. So, when Neil brought a toy train home from a Black Friday sale at Home Depot, they were totally enthralled! We also had a lot of fun learning about Baby Jesus. I often found the kids playing with Grace's doll in the toy room, calling it "Jesus."
We went to the Railroad park to ride the Christmas Train. We certainly had a theme going this year.
Earlier this month, Neil and I went on a quick get-away trip to Utah. He had a work party up there and I met him after his meetings and a day on the slopes were through. He really loves his new work, and most especially his new coworkers. They have a lot of fun together--maybe a little too much...
Christmas morning was the funnest yet. Mom, Dad, and Rebekah Reichert were here to celebrate with us. Even though all three of them were completely ill with the stomach flu all day on Christmas Eve, they each felt better and were able to have a little fun with us the next day. Kade's face when he saw the new basketball hoop Santa Claus brought him was PRICELESS! Grace loved the princess dress Santa brought her, too.
After presents and breakfast, we dressed in our Sunday clothes and went to Church. It was so pleasant to participate in the Christmas program and worship the Lord on Christmas day. Then, when we came home, we spent two hours talking to Missionaries. First, Elder Reichert in the Provo Utah Mission and second, Elder Andersen in the San Antonio Texas Mission. Both are turning into great men and doing great things in the mission field.
Grace and Kade enjoyed their time with Aunt Bekah and their Grandparents. We went to the park together and got spoiled with lots of treats. The kids were the center of attention the whole holiday with all their funny antics.
