We started off the month joining a group of Catalyst employees as the Ernst and Young Entreprenuer of the Year awards at the Grand America in SLC. Catalyst won the the best "Technology" company.

We discovered a fun place for us to play at Tibble Fork Reservoir. The water is snow run-off, so the creek is very cold but the lake is warm. The kids enjoyed racing from one bank to the other. We hadn't intended to get as wet as we did, so luckily our home is only a 20 minute drive away!
Lehi Roundup days is the weekend before Independence Day. All we really participated in was the parade. It was so hot that morning! The woman sitting next to us must have felt bad for our red-cheeked kids (they get that from their Mom), because she kept spraying them with her spray-bottle fan. She also gave them a ton of candy.
Kade made sure that Kathryn got a good view of all the "princesses" and cheerleaders that walked by.
One night, the kids asked if they could have a slumber party in the toy room. We explained that we wanted them to get a good-night's sleep, so they would need to stay in their own bedrooms. We found them an hour or so later sleeping on the floor together in the girls' room.
The LeSueur's came into town for the week while their oldest went to EFY at BYU. They stayed at our house, but we actually left for Wyoming after just two days, as we had previously scheduled our trip there. The night before leaving we had dinner in the canyon. Someone cut this huge piece of watermelon, and Kathryn gobbled the whole thing right up! Several days this month, Kathryn has eaten only watermelon and crackers for the day's meals. We finally had to resort to serving watermelon as a dessert separate from the meal. Otherwise, that was all she would eat.
Summertime is so fun! We love the more relaxed schedule. We love reading chapter books together with no pressure of an impending appointment. We LOVE playing barefoot in the sandbox and riding bikes around the neighborhood. Most of all, we love all the extra time to be together.
