First Snow 2013

We were spoiled with the most beautiful day on Saturday. It was almost 75 degrees, and that is unusual for November in Utah. We spent the day raking (for Kathryn it was eating) leaves and winterizing the house. After the chores were done, our neighbor came over to babysit the kids and Neil and I went on a jog up Mueller Park Canyon to Elephant Rock. I can't think of a more fun date we have ever done than that. It was 4.5 miles of hiking, jogging and talking. The views were scenic and beautiful and the company was even better! So worth the sore muscles the next day! We were glad that we spent so much time outdoors that day, because we woke up Sunday morning to this:

Our first real snowstorm of the year. It's such a mixed feeling. It's disheartening when we think about the shoveling and the icy roads yet to come for the next few months. It's also fun because the kids get excited to play in the snow, eat soup and bread for dinner, and bake cookies for our neighbors.

Kathryn looked darling in her winter coat for Church. My brother Josh gave it to Grace when she was a baby, but by the time she could fit in it, we were living in Arizona.
