Grace and Kade are cracking us up these days. They love to play "make-believe" together. We have our Halloween costumes ready and they are so entertained by dressing up in them. On any given day, if you stopped by our house you would most likely see Grace wearing one of her princess dresses and Kade wearing a cape and his sword. They play so well together that it puts me at ease thinking about how they will behave once a new baby joins our family. In fact, they are always talking about how excited they are for their sister to come. Grace says she can't wait to tickle her baby's toes and help me feed her. Kade, always sensitive to how I am feeling, is constantly asking if the baby is hurting my back.
I took both of them to the doctor last week for their well-visits. Grace got her kindergarten shots and they both got flu shots. The nurse felt so bad for all the pokes she had to give Grace that she sent us home with a bouquet of Dum-Dums. Their stats made me laugh. Grace is long and lean and Kade is stalky and off the charts in his height.They are just one pound different in their weight. Here are the actual numbers:
Grace:
Ht: 42 inches, 90th percentile
Wt: 36 LBS, 50th percentile
Vision: 20/20
Kade:
Ht:39.5 inches, way off the charts
Wt: 35 LBS, 85th percentile
Head: 19.75 cm, 70th percentile
We went on a field trip with Grace's preschool to the fire station just after the appointment. Grace was in pain from her six vaccinations, so she wasn't quite herself. However, Kade was in heaven looking at all those "big trucks." Watching Kade push his way to the front of the crowd of 4-5 year old kids, I realized he is only two inches shorter than the kids twice his age!
