Our growing family is having a good time these days. Grace is going through lots of fun and challenging stages. One day she will refuse to eat all food but crackers and fruit and the next day she will eat anything you put in front of her. One day she will be whiny and cranky and the next day she will be happy, laughing, and handing out loves left and right. Kade is learning how to smile and he thinks it is hilarious when you sing him songs and clap his hands to the rhythm of the beat. We had cable TV for two months this Spring, and we have since cancelled it. Why do we need TV when we have our sweet kids to entertain us?
Neil can frequently be spotted at Home Depot on Saturday mornings looking for equipment for our next new project. Recently we have planted a garden full of yummy produce, trimmed the vine that is coming over the wall from the neighbor's yard, and installed a misting system on the back porch.
This is Grace in her work clothes after all the Saturday chores were done for the day. Her hair is never combed on Saturdays.
Grace and Kade are stroller buddies. However, Grace has been riding alone a lot lately because she wakes up so early in the mornings (between 5:30 and 6:00 AM) that one of us has to take her on our run while the other stays home with Kade.
Grace likes to walk into Kade's room and wake him up in the mornings and after naps. Rather than crying, Kade always has a smile on his face while he waits for me to rescue him from the "Grace earthquake" as she shakes his crib back and forth saying "bee bee! bee bee!" She also likes to give him kisses and rock him in his carrier. Whenever she hears him crying she consoles him with hugs.
We are staying cool this summer by playing in the baby pool, having water fights on the trampoline, and eating popsicles while sitting under the misting system.
