Thanksgiving 2012

Two weeks before we were to drive to Wyoming for Thanksgiving, we got blasted with a huge snowstorm. We got over 3 feet of snow! The ski lodges were thrilled, but I was getting nervous about our trip.

Luckily, the temperature warmed back up to the 50's and ALL of the snow melted away on time. We had some rewards points to use up on our credit card, so we made a fun little vacation out of our trip. We drove to Rock Springs and stayed in a hotel where the kids got to swim and play. The next day we stopped at Martin's Cove and learned about our Pioneer Heritage before finishing the drive.
The weather was actually unseasonably warm while we were there. It was so nice that Neil, Dad and Josh went on a hike up the canyon.
The main highlight of this Thanksgiving was getting to see Josh and Chloe and little Annabelle. We hadn't seen them for over 18 months, so we were excited to be with them for a while. This was the largest Thanksgiving yet for the Reicherts. All the Aunts, Uncles, cousins (except Kaleb who is on his mission), and grandparents were all together for the first time. It was such a blast chatting, playing games, and eating the most delicious meal I have had in a long time.
The kids were really cute with baby Annabelle. Grace seemed especially grown up to me during this trip. Seeing her interact with my adult cousins like she was one of us, and watching her feed Annabelle made me realize she is not my little baby Grace anymore. She is going to be the best big sister to our little girl due in January.
